Copyright and DMCA

Last updated: September 20, 2026

Webb Consulting LLC, which operates Yay! Books, respects copyright and responds to valid notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

What this page is for

Yay! Books is a private bookkeeping tool. The files people upload are their own bank and card statements, and they are never published, shared or shown to anyone else. There is very little here that could infringe anyone's copyright. This page exists so that if there ever is a problem, you know exactly who to contact and what to send.

Sending a takedown notice

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, send a written notice to the agent above. To be valid under the DMCA, it must include all six of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it, such as the web address.
  4. Your address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on their behalf.

A notice missing any of these may not be valid, and we may not be able to act on it.

Counter notices

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter notice to the same address. It must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before it was removed.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number.
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district where you live, or, if you are outside the United States, the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia, and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances, we will close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright.

A word about false claims

Under section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, can be held liable for damages. Please be sure before you send either kind of notice.
